OMC Cobra Impeller Housing Help

I am thinking I need to change my impeller, hasn't been changed since I
bought boat.1900Z Mariah 4.3 HO Cobra.1991.I have a manual and a
impeller and seal.My question is manual says to use omc sealant on
rubber seal for housing and on bolts for cover. No one in my city has
this.Has anyone else used any sealants that you can get at the auto
parts house for this?I don't won't to just stick any old sealer on it
beings it is a rubber seal.
Thanks
Phil

Permatex #4 is the same as OMC Gasket Sealer. You can also find it at a
Mercury dealer. Aviation Permatex is close and will work in a pinch. Boat
Armour's Sealer 1000 (formerly Marpox Sealer 1000) is the same as the OMC
Type M, or you can use a bit of weatherstripping cement.
