the resistance in Iraq is isolated and of no serious consequence, and
that he has actual letters from servicemen there who tell him everything
is hunky-dory.

It almost seems out of control. What a mess. Maybe the US should just
engage in one last major all out effort to get rid of the most dangerous
elements and then leave. Let the Iraqis rebuild their own country.
Oh I forgot....what about the oil.....!
