Genuine Mahogany sole.....

Hi Everybody!
1 and 3/4" planks of mahogany glued on the 1/2" Baltic birch ply for the
removable sole,3-4 panels-What is the most efficient, not slippery and
esthetic way to finish it and be satisfied?
Thanks to everyone for an advice.

Genuine Mahogany sole.....

If it's not too late, i'd discourage using baltic birch ply anywhere near a
boat. For all its other nice properties, it's very intolerant of moisture.
It's a toss-up whether it'll delaminate before or after it rots.

Unless that birch is COMPLETELY encapsulated in epoxy, forget it.

Especially Baltic Birch, which is probably Russian.

Unlike Finnish Birch, which uses exterior glue, the Russians as well as
other Eastern European suppliers use interior glue.

As the kids would say, "Bad pizza".

Might consider MDO for this application, and yes you also want to
encapsulate it.
