I need information about a Johnson outboard 40BAL74.

Could someone help me with technical spezification or service literature
such as service manuals, owners manuals or parts books?

Guten Tag Stefan:

Try this http://www.mastertechmarine.com. I think they will have what you
are looking for and are a very good company to work with.

Immer Spaß in den Booten,

Sorry, I did not ask for an adress where I can buy books more expensiv
than a 30 years old engine. I only would like to know something about
this outboard.

He gave you the name of a very reputable and inexpensive source for repair
parts, who also maintains a free message board full of knowlegeable
people who can answer most any question about your motor. Instead of
thanking him, you make a snide comment. Class act.

Thanks for this Dan - it was my first thought as well. But then I'm thinking
the guy's German so maybe there's a language barrier so I bit my tongue (for
a change). I see in a later post that he acknowledges this.

To Stefan: I still suggest you check that web site - there is some free
information and the prices on the books are very reasonable (and sometimes
there's no substitute for the actual book). Good luck.

Grissy

No problem. But check that web site if you don't get the info you need
here.

Griss
