Default OK, here's another one to chew on.....

Anyone have any experience with Maptech's Marine Navigator product? Can you
give me a heads up on how it works and if it's worth the $$$$ for planning,
etc.??

Is this basically the same product as Maptech Offshore Navigator that
uses the raster charts in BSB format? If so, I've been using it for a
long time and highly recommend it. It has very much the same look and
feel as using paper charts only a lot faster, more convenient and lots
of added features. The only negative I have is the inability to zoom
into the same level of detail as a good chart plotter can. I use my
chartplotter side by side with a laptop runing Maptech to get the best
of both worlds.

Take a look at the program for apple computers. $50 for full blown package
and soon to be free charts!

I'm not really interested in apple computers. If the program is windows
based or can also be run with windows then it seems like something worth
looking into. ( I have several windows machines at home and my office
machines are windows based, no reason to clutter things with an apple).

Besides, Apple is switching to the Intel architecture. Apple will be another
PC clone hose that has a GUI on top of a UNIX variant.
