Default Replacing Tilt Trim Pressure Hoses

I have to replace the Tilt Trim Hoses on my 94 Chaparral coming from the
Tilt/Trim Motor. I'm not to familiar with where they connect down near the
outdrive. I would like to do this myself, what is the level of difficulty,
and where to the hoses physically connect to? Any suggestions on how to get
at them near the outdrive easily?? Any sites that have full diagrams of the
connections, I've been to the mercury express parts site...

Thanks!

The two hoses that are in the boat run from the pump to the connector that
mounts outside the boat on the bottom of the gimbal assembly. If you look on
the bottom of the gimbal assembly you will see the connector. It is fastened
with two nuts. There is also a gasket that seals it to the gimbal housing.

Here are some step by step instructions.

1. Make sure no wires or anything are attached to the trim lines in the
boat.

2. Write down the location of each hose as it is mounted to the pump.

3. Disconnect them from the pump using a flare nut wrench

4. Mark and remove the 4 trim lines that connect to the bottom of the gimbal
assembly.

5. Remove the two nuts holding the connector to the bottom of the gimbal
assembly.

6. It may be required to use a small flat head screwdriver or some other
suitable tool to pry it loose. Be careful not to damage it.

7. Once the connector is loose, note the location of the hoses for
reassembly.

8. Pull the connector with the two lines from inside the boat still
connected. It may help to have someone in the boat to guide the hoses.

9. Once the connector and hoses are removed from the gimbal housing you can
clean the connector mounting surface as well as the mounting surface on the
gimbal housing.

10. Reinstall using a new gasket.

I had a 36' Chaparral, but sold it to pave my long driveway.

Not that I needed the money to do it.
