Default Marine Goop glue = how to remove?

Hi,
Marine goop is great stuff. Very very strong. I use for a lot of
things that I want to put together and not take it apart again. I have
used to patch holes in my pop-up's roof. it is stronger that the
aluminum itself. The only way to remove is to cut it with a knife or
razor blade. See the website below.

I used it to hold an industrial can opener to my food "prep-table" in the
kitchen as opposed to screwing it down through the SS table. It's been on
there for years and many #10 cans.

I think you can get it in a spray can. Look for one of these Tri-Clean,
Per-Clean, trichlorethylene, tetrachlorethylene, or perchlorethylene

Thanks for the web site... from the page, it said something like this:

- Is GOOP washer/dryer safe? Yes. Do NOT dry-clean GOOP because
dry-cleaning solvent breaks down the cured adhesive.

So I can use "dry-cleaning solvent" to remove the Goop according to the
statement. Where can I buy dry-cleaning solvent? Any identical household
chemical I can find in hardware store?

Even I can remove it using knife I also want to clean up some residues..

so
maybe "dry-cleaning solvent" will work?

Thanks again.

I emailed the Goop manufacturer, here is their answer (see below). I will
try to buy some acetone from homedepot tonight to see if it works....

Many solvents will help dissolve Goop. Acetone or Toluene or Naphtha would
be good choices.

Thanks.

I have been using Goop for many years, I love this product. The Goop is very
strong, sometimes I feel that it is WAY TOO STRONG!! Recently I am facing a
problem, I sticked something to my boat and now I want to remove it. but it
is very difficult as I don't want to use razor blade to damage the surface.
I asked people on the Internet they told me to use a dry clean chemical
called "trichloroethylene" but I can't find it in local hardware store.

I think Goop company should consider having a new product for called "Goop
removal".. just some suggestions.

Simon
