A welcome gesture after US pilot slapped on wrist for disobeying orders
and killing Canadian soldiers. The 187th Infantry Regiment out of Fort Campbell Ky.. showed class by honouring Canadians partnered with their unit. http://www.herald.ns.ca/stories/2005.../f262.raw.html |

I worked with them every time we had a Reforger Exercise (annually), and worked with the staff in the buildup to the exercise. There was *always* a great camaraderie between our forces! One of my best motorcycle buddies was a Canadian. We took a trip from Stuttgart to Stockholm together, went to rallies all over Europe together, and got horribly polluted together. Don't *even* let one incident let you think their is some kind of animosity between Canadian and US military forces. What you are seeing and hearing is anti-Bush rhetoric. -- John H On the 'PocoLoco' out of Deale, MD "Divide each difficulty into as many parts as is feasible and necessary to resolve it." Because in poll after poll after poll, it's been shown that Canadian's animosity of the U.S. is growing under Bush's watch. They percieve us as bullish, and arrogant. |

The post above was written by someone who has probably never associated with a member of the Canadian military. -- John H On the 'PocoLoco' out of Deale, MD Really? Quite the contrary. I've known quite a few. Growing up in western NY, lived in Niagara Falls for awhile, met some there, and knew quite a few Canadian military skydivers that used to come to FL where I lived to compete in the Easter Boogy, and Turkey Shoot each year. Also, if you read the reply, you'd know that it really doesn't matter. What I've asked is, do you think that the Canadian military personnel are somehow different in their beliefs, and ideas than the average civilian Canadian? How so? Now we see why they *perceive* us the way they do. Stay home! -- John H On the 'PocoLoco' out of Deale, MD "Divide each difficulty into as many parts as is feasible and necessary to resolve it." ... There was *always* a great camaraderie between our forces! I think there's just something about the national mood up that way. They know what's important. Years ago, before 9/11, I was crossing the border at Niagara, with 2 fishing buddies. The Canadian customs guy asked me the purpose of our visit. I told him the truth: "We're coming to drink all your beer, catch all your fish, and steal all your pretty women". The guy said "Well...save me a little of each, and have a nice visit." |
