2002 Mercruiser 8.1
 

I am interested in a 39 foot 2002 boat. It has a pair of Mercruiser 8.1
375 HP engines. I heard second handed that this particular engine has
had problems. Can anyone confirm this?

If we're talking gas these are the tall block gm motors. Chevy big block
with a taller deck and longer stroke to make 500ci. I've never hear of any
problems, most racers are using these blocks.

I have three of these units in my 50' Donzi, and it runs great. I
havnt changed the oil in three years, and still, no problems.
