How heavy? Evinrude 1976 150hp V6??

Can someone give me a rough idea of the weight of a 150 Evinrude V6?
I can't find a spec sheet on this. Wondering if 2 guys can lift it onto
my truck, or should I rent an engine hoist like for a car V8 engine.

It is over 300 lbs. No way to lift it by hand. If you could back right up
to it you might lean it over against the tailgait and then lift the lower
unit and slide it in. Just make sure it is on a blanket or something that
will protect the lower part of the cowling that does not remove. Even then
you stand a good chance of breaking the lower part of the cowl.

Best to get a lift.

Wuss. :)

I agree. Even if two guys /could/ lift it, it'd be extremely awkward to
move. The likelihood of a crushed foot would be pretty high.

Besides being awkward, it's probably around 400/450 lbs. Ain't gonna
happen with two guys. I restored a 75 hp Johnson and damn near killed
myself trying to lift it by myself. Out came the engine hoist.

Rent the engine hoist - or borrow one from somebody.

Later,

Tom.

The cross flow V-4 weighs in at about 312 lbs., the V-6 is about 386
lbs, add 15 lbs. for XL shaft length.

It has to be somewhere in excess of 400 pounds, which is more than I would
want to be involved in picking up and putting in a truck, even with a
helper. You might be able to get by with a come along over a branch or
reinforced garage rafter.

About 300 lbs. I can lift mine easily into my Hummer H2, by myself.
