Mercruiser Sterndrive Info
 

Could anyone please help find any information regarding a Mercruiser
Sterndrive and engine. I have purchased a Cigarette 35 Racing Boat
early 80's with Mercruiser model 475 serial number 2498559. I can not
find info on this model anywhere. Thanks Del.

Not enough numbers in the serial number. Should be 8 numbers or more. You
can get shop manual from merc

but you have to have the serial number. Yours doesn't work. Serial numbers are 8
characters - example: OK189854

Thanks for the help, but these are the only numbers on the id plate. I
have contacted Mercruiser but they regret that they have no records
prior to 1985. In fact i cannot even find information that Mercruiser
did a 475 model. If you can give me any info on how i can trace the
history of the boat that would be of great help. Thanks.

I had two of these in the early '80 to race around, and play with.
Lots of fun they were.
