Sounds like we're doing the same sort of research. I started out
looking at a product called TSRW that's sold here locally. But then a
Yahoo search turned up some of it's competition. Poli-Glow included.
You may have already seen this. These are reviews done by different
mags but since they're posted on a Poli Glow site, as you might
suspect, no reviews critical of Poli Glow got posted. You might pick
up some info about it and its competition though.

Here's another page that popped up when I did a search on TSRW. Not
about Poli-Glow though but a little about acrylics in general.

I have no idea how biased or non biased any of these reviews are. I'm
like you, just looking for information. If anybody here has been using
any of these cleaner/coatings over the last few years, I'd like to
hear about your experience ... good or bad.

Well, one guy in the marina likes it and still uses it. While another, hated it
and had to wet sand to get it all off.
I have seen and heard of the "wet sanding" saga more often than the "I love it"
saga.

If you do the initial prep properly by following the directions,

They did.

you will
love
it.

They didn't.

If you think you know it all,

They don't.

and make up your own procedure,

They didn't.

you'll hate
it.

They did.

Since your friend felt he had to wet sand to remove it,

as the stuff comes off quite easily with

proper liquid remover from Poli Glow.

Not from what I have seen.

No more difficult than stripping wax
off a
linoleum floor, which people do all the time without thinking it's that
difficult.

Wouldn't know. Mine are tile.

I have never heard of anyone wetsanding to remove wax from their
kitchen floor.

Once again: If you follow the directions it works exactly as advertised.

Not from what I've seen. And that's all I can go by.

Proper
prep work is the key. If you apply it over old wax, it won't work well. Duh!

I would recommend that you NOT use Poli Glow. It requires that you can
read and follow simple directions.

apply Poli Glow.

I wonder if it's been tried on anything other than gel coat. My
Mariner outboard is getting a little faded too.
Anybody know if Poli Glow has ever been tried on an outboard (on a
non-fiberglass cowling)?
