Mercruiser 3.0 ignition
 

Can someone please direct me to a site that will tell me the 'Why's
and How to's" of replacing the standard points, etc. ignition system
with an electronic on the Mercruiser 3.0 engine?

Instead of that, buy a Merc manual that is correct for your boat.
You will use it 1,000 times and always have the right info handy.

Look up Pertronics. They have point replacement kits.
