Fifty per cent of Americans...
Harry,
Darn if we only had a parliamentary form of government, this Gallup Poll would have some significance. Do you feel better now? "Harry.Krause" wrote in message ... ...now believe the Bush Administration deliberately "misled" them on Iraq prior to our invading that country. Latest Gallup Poll. A year ago, the same question resulted in about a third of Americans believing the Bush Administration had deliberately "misled" the nation about Iraq. Bush is lucky we do not have a parliamentary form of government. He'd be facing one vote of NO CONFIDENCE after another, and would be forced to resign. |

Smithers et al, do YOU feel better knowing that, regardless of our "form of government" that our president misled us? Is it okay for the president to lie us into a war in a democracy? Remember, Hitler was good at doing just what Bush is doing, leading the lemmings that would follow him off the end of the earth into believing that everything he's done, even lying to the people is good and just. |
What does this have to do with boating?

Kevin,
As always you miss the obvious. This poll has nothing to do with reality. It has to do with people's perception of reality. Now in reference to lying and misleading, FDR lied more than any president to get us into an unpopular war. I don't believe GWB lied to us, he believed the exact same experts that Clinton and all intelligence experts believed. Iraq had WMD. Even France believe that. I believe GWB used 9/11 as a catalyst to remove a very dangerous dictator in a very unstable region. He used WMD and the terrorist camps as justification. If you think GWB lied to you, then so did every other politician since the early 90's. Heck, even your Harry, Hanson Bros. #1, wanted to nuke Iraq into the stone age. wrote in message oups.com... Think about how stupid the "average" American is...and then consider the fact that half this country is dumber than that. Gallup managed to find *that* 50%. |

Where's your proof that he lied, i.e. knowingly said something that wasn't true. You are always the first to ask for proof of 'wild allegations'. -- John H "All decisions are the result of binary thinking." |

So that makes it okay that Bush lied?????? I don't believe GWB lied to us, he believed the exact same experts that Clinton and all intelligence experts believed. Iraq had WMD. You don't believe Bush lied? How about this: "Satellite photographs reveal that Iraq is rebuilding facilities at [past nuclear] sites." Bush speech to the nation - 10/7/2002 The truth? Two months of inspections at these former Iraqi nuclear sites found zero evidence of prohibited nuclear activities there IAEA report to UN Security Council - 1/27/2003 Or this: "The British government has learned that Saddam Hussein recently sought significant quantities of uranium from Africa." State of the Union Address - 1/28/2003 The truth: The documents implied were known at the time by Bush to be forged and not credible. This has been proven. Or this: "We gave him a chance to allow the inspectors in, and he wouldn't let them in." Bush Press Conference 7/14/2003 The truth: UN inspectors went into Iraq to search for possible weapons violations from December 2002 into March 2003. Need more, Smithers? If you think GWB lied to you, then so did every other politician since the early 90's. Heck, even your Harry, Hanson Bros. #1, wanted to nuke Iraq into the stone age. wrote in message oups.com...
