engine will not start.
28 Wellcraft whose port engine will not start unless one pounds on it
with a hammer. I am told that this is due to a stuck solenoid. I was told I would need a rebuilt starter or a new solenoid. Who is right and is this information acurate? Thanks, Bill Fletcher. |
Solenoid is your problem. Probably have to remove the starter to remove the
solenoid. The problem is the copper disc and the terminals are lumpy from metal transfer and possibly corrosion and can be removed and cleaned up. On the other hand, what's a new solenoid cost? Had to hit the solenoid with the key turned to get it to start. Replace or clean the solenoid. Cleaning works for a while. -- John H "All decisions are the result of binary thinking." |
