'97 VP SX Cobra Sterndrive Any Good?

Looking at buying a 1997 Chris Craft 21' Concept with a 5.7 285hp motor and
a sx cobra Volvo sterndrive. Is that year sterndrive ok?

I have that exact year and model. It's maybe the best drive made. Do not
hestitate to buy it. Some people have pointed out, correctly, that parts
are more expensive than Mercury and harder to find. The counter to that is
that you are less likely to need parts, since the thing is built like a
tank. Especially nice is the cone clutch. Smooth as silk. You'll never
want a drive with the clutch dog (like on the Merc Alphas) again. The raw
water pump is on the engine block and can be replaced in about 15 minutes
(30 minutes the first time you do it) with no special tools or worry about
shift dohickys lining up. Go for it.
