Extract

President Bush sat on the aisle in the second row, next to his wife,
Laura. Beside them were French President Jacques Chirac and his wife,
Bernadette. The two presidents shook hands.

When Bush's face appeared on giant screen TVs showing the ceremony, many
in the crowds outside St. Peter's Square booed and whistled.

Polls consistently show Bu**** is held in lower esteem around the world
than even his tanked numbers in the USA now indicate.

You try soooooo very hard to put a favorable spin on Bu****...

Harry, you should know better than to think good policy and popularity are
connected! Clinton had opportunitys to do the right thing but declined
because it wasn't "popular". That makes him popular but a less than stellar
president. (Still much better than Carter)

So? That proves absolutely nothing other than some folks there liked him
and some did not. And many probably remained silent as this was not the
proper time to express ones likes or dislikes for the man.....it was, after
all, the funeral for the Pope, not a poltical rally.

Have you watched the olympics or any other international competition in
the past 30 years? Whistling has always been a "boo" for Europeans.

encouraged the same idiot behavior among a couple of those who think your

So now what remains of this newsgroup has you posting as two dozen different

Your baby behavior has led to this and now you want to lie and say you don't

Who is going to believe you?
Not much of a fellow. You won't even tell us what kind of boat you have and

Just giving you a little taste of your own medicine here, "ME" though I
don't bother to post as 30 different people, as you do.
I do post on topic. I've posted info about fishing, fishing equipment, my
boat and where I boat. That makes me more of a real poster here than you
are.
Because you don't have a boat. Right?

OT. This is rec.boats, not wrecked.boats.

********************

Indeed. Did my comment about turning the Pope's funeral into a photo-op
wreck your ability to enjoy your boat? What compelled you to waste your
time reading a thread that was labeled "off topic" and titled "Bush
Booed at Pope's Funeral"...(or some such)

We could use a few more boaters participating in the On-topic threads.
I know several of us will look forward to your useful contributions
there- but I'd suggest you switch your handle. :-)

Meanwhile, if you don't want to read the OT stuff- don't open an OT
thread.

There are two kinds of OT posts here. One starts off OT, and is usually
clearly labeled.
That's the kind that is plainly advertised for what it is. I don't know
about you, but if I'm walking down the street and I pass a theater
advertising, " Bare Breasted Biker Bitches Going Down, Down, Down,
XXXXXX rated, absolutely adults only!" I don't need to buy a ticket to
figure out what kind of movie is playing there. If I want to see busty
biker bitches, (going down, down, down) I'll go in and get my money's
worth. Otherwise I'll pass. If I wandered into the theater anyway, I
don't think I would stand up and complain that there are naked people
on the screen commiting some acts that are usually reserved for more
private and discreet circumstances.

The other kind of OT post is a little more insidious. A thread starts
off "Questions about Repairing an XYZ Outboard." About three of four
posts into the thread, somebody decides to take a shot at another
poster with some crap like "You claim you invented a new type outboard,
and you're a liar!" (or) "You claim your great uncle crossed the
Atlantic on a bamboo raft powered only by a 3 HP FICHT and did it on 5
gallons of gas, and you're a socialist MF'er!" Those are pretty tough.
That's like paying for admission to a theater with
"Bambi", "Dead Poets Society", or "Unforgiven" on the marquee-and being
shown the busty biker bitches instead. I agree with you, it's a shame
when an on-topic thread gets put into the crapper by personal
animosities.

Does one have to own a boat to be a boater or have an interest in boating?

Is owning a boat a prerequisite to posting in this NG?

There are some non boat owners here who contribute more to this group in a
positive way than many boat owners, including you.

So what exactly is the point *you* are trying to make?
