One of the great fallout's of Iraq and Afghan is the Libya folding on WMD's.
We have now found they were at least 10 times more likely to have a nuke
shortly than intelligence sources figured. So maybe we survive longer.

And I'm sure there's a way to protect against that, right? If a large cargo
ship has a 25' walkaround loaded with a suitcase nuke, and they unload it in
the middle of the night, there is no way to differentiate that boat from the
hundreds of others that will be returning to harbor one Saturday after
fishing.

The only way to diminish the threat is to go into the countries where these
guys live and kill every one of the *******s that don't wave an Amercian
flag whenever a column of our M1A1's are rolling by. We invaded
Afghanistan...and the liberals whined. We invaded Iraq, and the liberals
whined some more. We pressured Lybia into disarming, and the liberals
dismissed it as irrelavent. We recently placed sanctions on Syria (likely
just a harbinger of a future military action there), and the liberals say
Bush isn't doing enough. I realize it's an election year, but you guys have

Following 9/11, the entire Middle East would have been rubble if my finger

No, ****-for-brains, I do not blame Bush for our failure to have normal
diplomatic relations with Cuba, although if he did normalize relations
there, it would be a feather - and the only one -in his cap.

What I blame Bush for, and what you would have noticed if you could read
standard English, is the absolute failure of his "homeland security"
program. If we can't keep a bunch of Cuban refugees in a power boat from
landing on our shores, and we obviously can't, then what chance do we
have of keeping a boatload of terrorists from landing on our shores?

Answer: no chance.

Ergo, we are no safer now, with all the money Bush has wasted, than we
were before.

Got it?

Or do you need more ECT?

You're joking, right? Ever since Fidel took over Cuba in 1959 Cubans have been
escaping to the U.S. by whatever means available to them. We have not been able
to stop the influx of Cuban refugees under Kennedy, Johnson, Nixon, Ford,
Carter, Reagan, Bush 1, or Clinton. So, therefore tell my how Bush 2 is doing
any worse than those who preceded him in the office of the President. Homeland
Security not withstanding probably has no more influence stopping the Cuban
influx than any other government program.

Homeland Security is, my understanding anyway, aimed more at the potential
terrorist threat than it is aimed at Cuban refugees trying to escape the
conditions in Cuba and come to the U.S.

The only way, as I see it to stop the Cuban refugee problem would be to build a
Berlin type wall alround our whole border with armed guards stationed every 10'
or so and that might solve the problem of Cuban refugees.

Bush 2 has done no better or worse at stoping the influx of Cuban refugees. I
would like to think that someone as intelligent as you seem to be can see this
too. If not you are letting your dislike or hatred of Bush 2 cloud your
judgement more than just a little bit. The only time the Cuban refugees will
stop trying to come here is when Cuba is once again a "free" country. That may
never happen given the nature of the people there. Only time will tell.

46 days to go..

why his concept of Homeland Security is a cruel joke.

No, the way to stop or at least slow illegal Cuban refugees is to
reestablish full diplomatic relations with Cuba and help that nation
rebuild itself while we are waiting for Castro to die.
