JonnyRude - Controller recall.

P/N 176380 and 176381 made between 01/01/2001 and 08/01/2003. "These remote
control boxes may have loose or improperly assembled fast idle lever
components, which could potentially cause the outboard to stick in gear or
in neutral or jam the throttle."

On page 2 and 3 of the recall letter, it explains to check for a "white
paint dot" on the underside of the box. If there is a white dot, you're ok.
If not, raise the warm up lever and look for a white tag (about 1" x 1").
The tag will have a date code stamped on it (second line). If the date code
on the tag falls within the range listed, you need to have the box inspected
for possible repair or replacement.

What would these be found on?

Too add to that. I believe they are "side mount" controllers, not panel
mount.

Really? Damn, I thought this was the rec.remote.airplane newsgroup.

Serously, are these found or made for other companies like Merc or
Bombardier?

As far as I know it's a Bombardier specific issue.
