Installing hull lights?
It's winter here in wonderful Wisconsin. My boat is stored away, but
I'm dreaming of the day when the ice melts and I can get back out and do some boating. I fish at night quite a bit and would like to install some hull lights to make nighttime docking easier. I have never made any electrical modifications to my boat and am not that familiar with the realm of 12V modifications. I'm just looking for some tips on where to get some information (a good site perhaps) and how I can determine what the maximum ability of my electrical system would be. I have a 18' Four Winns Fish n' Ski that has two batteries. We also take the boat out for the July 4th party on the lake. Lots of people light up their boats and I'd also need to consider electrical capacity for that. Also, after looking through the Overtons catalog I'm wondering how I can be sure that the angle on the hull lights would be suitable for the hull of my boat. Are they pretty much universal? Any recommendations on a durable brand? Thanks for any help! |
