Boat Naming Help

{lurk mode off}
Fellas (and ladies), I've been lurking in this group for several years
(since I bought an old used boat) and have received great help on
previous posts. Well now that darn boat show came along and forced me
to trade in my '78 Mark Twain 20' Cuddy for a brand spanking new 24'
Cuddy (Stingray 240CR if anyone wants to flame me for it)! Now I need
a boat name. My MT was name Hi-Tech, but I'm at a loss on this one.
Background:
Only my second boat
Family vessel for Chesapeake Bay and tributaries
Wife does daycare
I am an utter computer geek and am director of an IT department
(I've been trying to think of a computer related name).

Any and all suggestions welcome, as I've seen some great boat name
ideas come out of this group! Thanks folks!

(and for anyone wishing to just hate me, considering this group, I'd
put myself slightly to the left).

Give some serious thought to "Mucho Loco". It's easy to understand,
easy to remember, and probably pretty accurate. Hope you enjoy yours
as much as I've enjoyed mine! I looked at the pics, and have to say
that I don't think you'd want a couple of 40" stripers flopping around
in there.

Personally, if it were me who is the IT geekozoid, I would name my
boat - wait for it, wait for it...

IT (if you are a real geek, 0100100101010100) or you could use IT with
the home port in binary or vice versa which would be more fun.

However, C Drive, C-Plus, Downstream, Upstream, Byte Bucket, Bit Speed
are some ideas.

Good luck.

I have a 240CS Stingray. I really like it and hope you like the
240CR! They are sexy boats, not fishing boats per se, but I've caught
some good Cod and Stripers off mine. I only fish very rarely anyway.
I bring heavy plastic bags to stuff the fish in right away to keep the
crap off the boat, then clean them on shore.

Named mine the Katydid2 for many reasons, it's too long of a story.

Check out the Stingray forums! Great info there on Stingray boats.

I prefer boat names that mean something to the people most closely involved.
On the other hand, a clever play-on-words is always good for a chuckle on
the dock, with the added benefit that you will think yourself more and more
clever with each passing beer or glass of wine.

The most important thing is to have a name easily understood by rescue folk
on the radio. Consider that before you name your boat in binary.

Well, the binary would be the lettering - you would pronounce it IT.

It - IT - get.....er...never mind... :)

Binary is numbers, and I think the registratiion number would take the

One final thought...

Kspraker,
I too am a "geek" by profession. To be honest with you though, that very
last thing I think about when I am on my boat is work, computers, or cell
phones. (unless I break down...of course). The name of my boat, Julia Sea,
has nothing to do with technology.
