Can someone explain to a semi computer literate old mariner with a rusty
computer to match his rusty anchor, what a killfile is and how it helps a discussion? I thought a plonk was when one of your charter passengers hit you with his sinker while casting. -- Capt. Frank Hopkins www.home.earthlink.net/~aartworks |

The program used to read posts, Forte Agent in my case, has the option of using a killfile. I could tell the program to disregard any email where the author is "Capt. Frank Hopkins" for example. Then while articles were being downloaded the program would check each article's author to find a match. If a match is found, the article (post) would not be displayed. Kill files can use authors' names, subject titles, size of post, or many other criteria. John H On the 'Poco Loco' out of Deale, MD on the beautiful Chesapeake Bay! |

I don't know if it's possible to filter messages with IE. I use Agent. It is, in my opinion, a great newsreader. It is also possible to download Forte's Free Agent. Go he http://www.forteinc.com/agent/index.php I used Free Agent for a long time, but finally bought the real thing. Well worth the $30.
