Default Rigid Hull Inflateables

I am looking for advice as to what to buy in the way of a tender for a
larger boat. I am looking for a quality product and have visited the
baot shows and have not been able to get enough differentiation between
the Nouverana, Nautico, and Avons in the 11-13 foot size range equipped
usually with 30-50 Hp 4 stroke Yamaha's.

Any advice from all o fthe experts out there?

Thanks in advance,

Carl

The three you mention are all popular, as is Caribe. I happen to own
a Caribe since it came with my latest boat. I would rate it's quality
as average or a little better. The quality leader in inflatables over
the years has always been Avon and is where I would put my own money
in the absence of any other information.

Was just in the Galapagoes, and the ship used Caribe's as tenders. They did
have rope nets over the front to protect from rocks, but with all the use
these get, I was impressed with the quality. They were probably 18' as they
carried 20 people at times and they used both Mercury 4 stokes 40 hp and
some yamaha 2strokes. The 4 stroke was a much nicer ride, no smoke at all.

I now have an Avon and I think it is the best. I have had other brands
such as Nissan and Caribe before the Avon.

One thing you must consider is the tube material. PVC will not hold up
long to sun. For sunny places Hypalon is much better (and more
expensive)

I have a 12' Zodiac with a 150 hp Merc on it, I use as a dingy from my
80' Hatteras. Im guessing it tops out at about 150.
