Evinrude 15hp

Can anyone tell me what the difference is between the standard Evinrude 15hp
motor and the Evinrude "Commercial" 15hp motor?

The only difference I can see is that the Evinrude "Commercial" is a white
motor as opposed to the usual dark blue of the standard Evinrudes.

Both motors are mid 90's models.

Best regards

Not 100% sure, but if memory serves me right, the commercial is heavier duty
with larger water pump and heavier bearings. I had one of these for a while
from an earlier vintage and if I remember right, most other parts were the
same. Ran good!

Thanks Mike.

A couple of other people have said similar things along the lines of bigger
anodes for immersion in salt water more often and a stronger gearbox.

Upgraded bearings and such would sound more like it otherwise they would
have to re-tool a lot of the internal dimensions to fit heavier gearboxes
etc.
