Vancouver Boat Show is on, strike postponed

Just spoke to my Canadian publisher and learned that the Vancouver BC
boat show is on, but will open 1 1/2 days late due to time lost in the
recent labor dispute.

My source said the Candian government "imposed a cooling off period" so
the show could go ahead.

Good thing you posted this! I had already given up on this ... their
website also confirms this.

Correct. I am the one who facilitated the cool off period. Glad I
could help.

1 1/2 days lost by the exhibitors. 1 1/2 days of lost sales. 1 1/2 days of
expenses. They are the ones who had the hardest hit.

I hope they impose a clause in the exhibit hall contract that says the use
of union labor is no longer mandated in the future.

I agree. I guess it was the principle of the thing...the fact the union put
their interests ahead of the dealers and exhibitors and could care less
about the financial losses they would suffer.

But I should not be surprised as that seems to be the norm for unions...or
so it seems lately.
