S. California marinas

Will be moving soon to Phoenix and may consider the San Diego area for
boating. Looks like boats are reasonably priced there...

any good marinas in the area? costs for 30' slip? good destinations?
(still deciding on power vs sail)...

---------------------------
to see who "wf3h" is, go to "qrz.com"
and enter 'wf3h' in the field

Falky foo February 3rd 05 07:04 AM

All full. year wait on a mooring.

Take a look at http://www.thelog.com/special/sectionview.asp?s=209
for a guide to the Marinas on the West Coast. For a 30' slip there is pretty
good availability in the San Diego area. For a larger slip there is usually a
significant wait. Get on a waiting list where you want to be (a few different
choices) and then tell them a couple of months in advance you are ready for a
slip. Or take one as soon as it comes up if your boat purchase is imminent.

give 'em a call, doggy. I think you'll find most of 'em are full, even if
listed on the web as open.

Let us know if you find any available.

If you want access to tv or high speed internet I would suggest the
Marriot(385 w.Harbor Dr., 2 year wait),2051 Shelter Island, or Chula Vista
Marina. My boat was at the Bahia when I bought it, nice place. Lots of
marinas in San Diego to choose from, but the wait may be a while at the
better ones.

I had my own island right of the San Diego cost, and it is indeed a
graet place to boat.
