Sheesh.

Wow - that's cold on ANY thermometer!

We had the opposite: snow and record cold (*HIGH* of -9C!) last week. As is
typical, 6in of snow brought Vancouver to a screeching (well, sliding) halt.
Allgone now and back to typical West Coast weather: warm and wet. If I didn't
have so much to do on Far Cove, I'd be taking the Tin Boat out to Nicomen Slough
and try to scare some cuttys.

In fact, I see on the North American weathermap that our temps are consistent
with those in southern Carolina (not QUITE Northern Florida...)

You should rename that boat..."The Tin Man" All sorts of allusions...

It is now a balmy 14F here. I have bribed my wife out of bed with
breakfast, and have promised her exclusive use of my ski parka if she
will accompany me to the mall wherein is located Bass Pro Shops. The
parka comes down to her knees. Oh well...fashion is fashion.

Actually, it doesn't really have a name. I wanted to call it "Skeeter", but
everyone thought of mosquitos, and there's a bassboat mfr of that name. I've
been referring to it as "the tin boat" since I got it, so I guess that's its
name.

Wow - it's like 4pm over there, isn't it? More like "Dinch" (meal between lunch
an dinner).

That sounds like a Mistake: When I take my Lady to a fishing shop, I can only
spend money if it's for HER...and she buys lures based on how "pretty" they are.

It just cleared 7º F and is on it's way back down.

It was -2º F this morning.

A friend of mine offered me his seats at the Partiots game tonight -
50 yard line, twelve rows back. I ain't going. The wind chill is just
plain frightening.

We did ok. I bought a new fishing rod, some Fireline and a huge coffee
mug, and found her a really nice fisherman's sweater, all in BassPro,
and she bought a few minor things in another store. The BassPro shop
really is fabuloso.

I got about 20 geese and a few ducks sitting in the back yard,
shivering. If they wouldn't crap on the floor, I'd invite them all in.
But I think I'll just toss them a bag of corn and turn on the heater in
the water trough.

I was going to head down to the Bay later for a look, and to see what
the charter boats were bringing in but...to hell with that. It's the
kind of day that makes one one wants to head for the Bass Pro Shops
superstore at Arundel Mills Mall.

Yep. 23 deg now... going down to 11 tonight... still about 2 inches
of snow and a promise of two more bouts of the stuff in the next 10
days.

Ditto in Concord....

Just checked...we're at 9F right now.

Here's a news flash for you, DickheadDennis:

Less than two weeks ago, we were enjoying balmy days here, with temps in
the high 60's and low 70's, and at that time I lamented that we'd be
paying for the nice weather very soon.

Got it now, DickheadDennis?

Do *any* of you neofascists have a working brain?

Tsk, tsk, Hairball, such naughty words on the internet.

The weather was perfect here on Galveston Bay today. We talked about
sliding the Carolina Skiff off of the dock and going out to some deep holes
for some Specks but the tide was really low. So my wife and a neighbor
went to the dike and picked up a couple buckets of oysters instead...while I
watched football. It doesn't get much better than that!!

If it makes your guys feel any better, there have been nothing but 6'+ seas here
in "sunny" south Florida for many weeks now. I forgot what my boat, and the
ocean, look like!
