There has to be a better way!
I went to a bit of effort to reply to an inquiry in a post here about Towing
a boat. After giving the subject some good thought and committing it to an email to the originator it rejected as a bad address. I'm certain this has happened to everyone, but I'm to the point that I'm not responding to any more inquiries because it is just a waste of my time and effort. Certainly I realize that it happens because people use incorrect addressees to limit the amount of junk mail they get. But if you ask a question how do you expect people to answer it? Sometimes I reply on the news group rather than to an individual and often the reply never gets posted. We've got to figure a better way to communicate! Or just read what's posted and not bother with a reply. Don Dando |

That way, you won't be trying to send mail to the group along with the positor's addy, munged for protection. That could interrupt the entire spurt. If you can post for yourself, you can post in reply. The subject line determines the threading, so don't change it, if you want the board to show it in association. 'Course, you can associate the list any way you want to, once you download the headers, no? I don't understand your indignation. Read the friggin' manual. Oh, better mung your addy, or you'll probably get spammed. Good luck, come again. Terry K |

The answer is then open for discussion & review by all; yes you might cop some flack here & there from non boating idiots but so what???? As the other posters have said, this is a news*group*. However, if you really must reply by email, a casual look at the email address might help. Many posters mung their addresses against robots, not humans. If you look at the address in question, I suspect you will be able to figure out how to de-mung it. |

I have experienced delays in posts showing up, but if they *never* show up, then the problem has usually been my fault. Putting your email address openly in the news group is asking for spam and/or unwanted emails from others in the group. John H On the 'PocoLoco' out of Deale, MD, on the beautiful Chesapeake Bay!
