Berkeley, CA Area Paddling Club
 

Wow, it's been a long time since I last posted here (around the time of
the great schism). Anyway, wondering if anyone out there can pass on
the lowdown on any Berkeley or Berkeley Area clubs. Especially WW
clubs. Couple of years ago I ran into a guy, named Dan I think, who
lived around the corner from me in North Berkeley and told me something
about a local club, but I've lost his contact info. Thanks much.

Try POST, they're a club that has been around forever, do a wide variety of
outings and are based in the East Bay.

The Kruegers beat me to the punch on POST. I'm a member and will be
glad to answer any questions you might have. They're somewhat unique in
that the club owns its own boats and equipment (though many members
have their own boats also). The ratio varies from trip to trip, but on
average, the monthly outings see about 70% canoes and 30% kayaks.
