OT Car of the Year

Forget the Mustang. Was watching the news and the Chrysler 300 c was
declared 'car of the year' at the Detroit Auto Show. You guessed it...it's
manufactured in Brampton, Ontario.

So what was your point in putting down the Mustang? Because John bought
one?

Personally I think the Chrysler 300 is ugly. Most Chryslers are also
plagued with mechanical problems. Are most of them made in Canada also?

It's an interesting looking car, sort of...looks aggressive in a
modernistic, retro kind of way. The Mustang, which also seems a pretty
cool car, apparently is Number One on the Gay Guy Shopping List.

Well, I am not gay, but I considered one until I read the write-up in
Henning's. Interestingly, I also considered the 300C. But ....

My tooling around car here in Florida is a Gen II (2004) Durango with the
"yes, it's a hemi". It is ok, has some pep and rides better than the old
Durangos. I drove it up to MA and back and then decided to take my wife's
BMW X5 that I had not driven for a while for a spin.

American cars still have a long way to go. The BMW is far superior in every
way, yet is in the same price range as the Durango. Even with a smaller 6
cylinder engine, the little Beemer rockets along. The automatic transmission
shift points are clean and crisp, unlike most American cars that slide from
gear to gear.

So, now I am kinda drooling over a BMW 545i with the sports package.

Do me a favor and delete "one" and replace with "a new Mustang" in the above

Hmmmm.... owned by Germans, designed by Americans, built by Canadians and
powered by Mexicans. Does this qualify it as a "World Class" automobile?

Well , you just can't help yourself. You said you weren't going to insult
anyone anymore...and then you go and insult 30 million Canadians.
You forgot hydro electricity, various minerals, lumber, foods including
seafood from here, comedians etc...etc.
In 2002 we sold $ 382.5 billion of something to the US. So unless you're
buying our clean air...there must be something up here that the US likes or

Minerals, oil, wheat, oats, seafood, and cheap medicine to name a few.
There are many, many more. For one thing, an awful lot of parts of your
American made car probably came from Canada. But, you are good at

Takes all of about five minutes to respond to most of the posts aimed
at me. No, business is booming, referring excess work to others. Now,
it's true, I DO turn the computer off at 5pm every day. Usually turn it
on at 6am or so, and while downloading and/or uploading files, take a
shower, eat, etc. After 5pm I catch up on filing, etc. for an hour or
so, then quit for the day. Any other questions? Thank you for your

Hertvik is an ass. You couldn't wish for a better northern neighbor than
Canada. It's a great country, with lots of terrific people.

Ask yourself...who would you rather have for a neighbor, Don, or one of
the other affable Canadians, or one of the right-wing dipsticks, like
Hertvik, Herring, Robbins, Jerkoff, Wally or California Bile? Do you have
to think about it for more than a second?
