came "despite recent assertions from Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld
that soldiers could not be supplied with safer vehicles because Pentagon
officials could not procure them faster."

That's funny. In an interview with the CEO of the primary supplier for the
armor components, he said he had plenty of unused production capacity, but
that the Pentagon had not asked for more units.

It's kinda tough on the boys when you're waging war and cutting taxes at
the same time.

If there was ever a group that needed a union more...I don't know who.
I'd suggest the entire 130k of them strike for better conditions.

Now THERE'S an idea. I wonder which union, though. It has to fall under the
heading of an existing one, or someone might end up doing undersea research
without studying it first in college. Youse know what I mean?

Since soldiers work with ammunition, perhaps they belong in the same union
as metal workers.

Police officers seem to function under unions. Since the soldiers are
public employees...how about a Civil Service type union?

As a result, the
military will end up being run by the people who aren't even qualified
to carry a rifle......

And this is different from what we have now how?

Those 'running' our military have how much actual military experience?

Just askin'
