Underestimating your opponent is a good start to losing. You're
providing a prime example of why Gore and Kerry lost.

Underestimating W.... Bwaaahhahahaahahaaaaaaa. Good one.

Just to be sure...you can understand that one can appreciate someone's
ability to win at something while at the same time having the point of view
that they are totally undeserving of the victory, right?

George W engaged in a campaign of fear-mongering by scaring people about
terrorists, scaring people about homosexuals...anything to keep as many
Americans as possible in a state of fear, because people are not rational
when they are in fear.

Remember that great Democrat, JFK, and the fictitious "Missile gap"?
It's not just Republicans why work the fear angle.

Undersestimating a semi-literate born-again evangelical alcoholic (self
admitted) frat-boy with a police record....
Not possible.

Sure is, the Dems did it twice in the last two Presidential elections.

Underestimating the voters? Sure, could happen.

And did, the Dems did it twice in the last two Presidential elections.

Agreed. But part of George W's "brilliance" is that he engages in
fear-mongering to such an extreme that no one could ever outflank him.

He learned from Kennedy.

You're straying a bit from your topic, performance. Getting back to it, care to
provide a rundown of W's performance?

Gibing you something to whine about.

Warren, some paddlers only know how to whine about jibbing! That is
what this whole thread is about, changing to a complete new heading
(politically speaking) without getting the permission of those who had
us on another heading previously. The fact that the new helmsman jibed
instead of tacked, caught some of the flatland paddlers in a tizzy, as
they tried to figure out what just happened, and they'r still figuring,
and undersestimatin'. They say the helmsman doesn't know what he is
doing, but it appears to me he pulled off the jibe pretty smooth,
despite all the squealing!

Now I realize that an off topic post about sailing, will cause some
more squealing from some paddlers, but I would suggest that they try
sailing. You get more attuned to the direction the wind is blowing, and
how hard. And you learn to use the wind to get where you want to go
without so much whining! TnT

Posted three times already and you still haven't spelled it correctly!

Mike

Tinkerntom December 15th 04 06:26 AM

Michael Daly, Sorry about posting three times, and Sp. error, but I am
not seeing it posted even once. I kept getting a server error when I
tried posting it earlier, and got a failure notice. So am surprised
that it posted at all. What server are you linked to, that you are
seeing the post? I am on the Google beta RBP and still not seeing it.

Tinkerntom December 15th 04 07:31 AM

Mike, since you are the Sp. Prof. for the day, could you define the word - undersestimating? Now it could be liberal speak, but I could not find it in my dictionary. Since you did not correct the spelling, it must be correctly spelled, and I am left wondering what it means.

You might need to check with Paddlec1 since he mentioned it first, I think. :-)TnT
