capn's stand advice

I had my captains stand re-upholstered and I made the panel that holds the
gauges and instruments. I made the panel out of acrylic and I was wondering
if any type of spray paint will adhere to the plastic?
thanks tcoop

I think there is a product called or made by Krylon.

I believe I've seen either Krylon or Rustolieum advertising such a
paint. Sorry I can't remember which but it is a start.

I understand there is a primer available that will make most any paint stick
to plastic.

Most any Acrylic Enamel will do fine on the acrylic. Do not use lacquer as
it may cause damage to the plastic. The most important thing is to clean
and prepare (degreasing, dewaxing, light sanding). The best place to get
the proper materials is an auto paint store. In my area a company called
Auto Color would be the choice.
The paints out now that say they work on "plastics" may work also but they
are more for polypropylene and polyethylene which are basically "non-stick".
