Rec.boats hijacked by another site?

Somebody running a website called talkaboutboats.com is picking up items from
rec.boats and running them on his site. I guess if you can't attract any
content, you have to steal it wherever you can find it. :-)

Post for post - word for word. :)

Content is content - right? :)

Just wait til he gets bogged down with a lot of off-topic political crap (oh
wait, after reviewing his site he already has)

From his "About" section...
Talk About Networks Groups is a refined subset of popular groups that are
posted and archived to our servers using Usenet. Talk About Network Groups
eliminates the need for a newsreader and lets you search this archive in the
same way you would search HTML pages on the Internet. You can also use Talk
About Network's Groups to post your own comments to a newsgroup.

Wow. I heard about another evil capitalist pig website that does this. I
think it was called "Google" or some nonsense like that.

There are a number of sites that run content from newsgroups. Givent he
drop in popularity in newsgroups in the last few years I welcome that the NG
is exposed to more people this way. If they are simply reproducing the
entire group as it is updated they aren't stealing a thing. Personally if I
did that with one of my websites I would set up filters to strian out some
of the OT stuff, and some of the cruder posts.
