Sorry bout the OT post but this was just too fun not to report.
I needed an antifreeze bath at work but I needed it seriously cold but had no dry ice to put in it but do have plenty of liquid nitrogen............ Put the antifreeze in a small styrofoam coller and poured in the LN2 and it all bubbled and made mist all over producing large green bubbles of frozen antifreeze. When all the nitrogen had boiled off, the antifreeze had formed a weird green frozen foam that was slimy to the touch. The antifreeze warmed as I watched and the foam slowly dissapeared. This has got to be useful for something. |
