Looks like the guy posting "get over it" throughout the NG is really saying,
"Now that my side prevailed by a few percernt in the election, I consider that
a license to poke fun and belittle those on the other side of the question- and
any comment from them can be shouted down with "cry your ass a river, you
losing mf'ers."

Get over it John. Your candidate won so why would you choose to act like such a
loser?

Because he's not only insecure and childish, but also a bitter & angry
at the world.

Most of the fascist whackos are like that. What do you expect, Chuck?
Reasonable, intelligent behavior from the likes of John H?

I think we'd be better off with less name calling and personalization of issues
from all sides.

But that's just the point... there is *no* issue here, except that JohnH
feels it is totally OK, acceptable, and appropriate, to insult you
publicly for the simple reason that you've argued against some of his
political views.

I think you may be confusing two threads.
John apologized, like a gentleman, for the
other thread.

Chuck, I posted the URL because many of the pictures are funny! They
are at least as funny as the chimpanzee pictures of Bush that have
been posted here.

Good. I didn't see it, for one reason or another. I would like to think
that many of those guys do have a shred of decency.

We would like to feel the same. Because the tenor of many of the posts
has changed somewhat during the past 24 hours, that seems possible.
There are some who haven't gotten the word yet, however. Maybe you
could help spread same?

I'd have a Chesapeake Bay fishing report for you, but the winds were

Yes, there is a truce. Harry Krause, myself, and a number of others agreed
that this group needs to get back on topic or OT posts that are not intended
to offend.

We are doing our parts to make the group better for boating and having
pleasant conversations.

I kind of like it. The politics and animosity were getting annoying and
raising everones blood pressure.

The truce was declared around noon on 11/7.

I retract anything nasty I may have posted before that date in the interest
of killing those unwelcome and unpleasant threads.

It would appear to be holding so far.

It does? I am still waiting quietly to see how this is going but so far it
is certainly not a complete success.

There will always be some who can't resist for one reason or another,
but if we all work at it, it can succeed.

I don't have the original post, but here was the followup. We actually
went almost 24 hours with no name-calling, and almost no OT posts. It
was truly a group of peace and harmony.

And then basskisser rejoined us with about 10 name-calling posts,
which received their responses, and it went downhill from there.
