Very good. It helps to talk about your feelings. Since I used my
educational background as my credentials as proof of your mental health
problems and I failed to back up my wild claim, do you feel it totally
destroys my credibility.

Yes, it does. Anyone who was really involved in the field wouldn't
dream of claiming to be able to diagnose mental problems via what
someone has written in a newsgroup. Furthermore, you've not "used
(your) educational background as (your) credentials". You've never
proven such.

Do you feel that I am a sick individual who has to make up elaborate
stories to boost my weak ego?

Yes, you've proven so, see above.

Do you feel if their was
any validity about my educational background, that I would love to prove you
wrong and provide you with that proof?

Yes, but, alas you can't, because it's a lie.

Dr. Dr. Smithers November 3rd 04 01:44 PM

Basskisser,

So is it your contention that anyone who would use one's unproven
educational background as credentials to evaluate an individuals mental
health via Usenet posts would either have to be a liar or completely
incompetent? Is it your contention that anyone who would even bother to
posts completely unsubstantiated education information would have to be an
insecure fool with severe ego problems?

Is that what you are saying?

Yes, absolutely. No professional in their right mind would attempt to
diagnose and treat anyone over their usenet posts.

Is it your contention that anyone who would even bother to
posts completely unsubstantiated education information would have to be an
insecure fool with severe ego problems?

No, never said that. BUT, YOU stated that you are a psychiatrist, with
a PhD in direct response to me asking you what your qualifications
were for making the above diagnosis. HUGE difference.

Is that what you are saying?

You've asked three questions, so, please see above.

Dr. Dr. Smithers November 4th 04 05:56 PM

Ok, I guess you do agree that Harry was a fool when he tried to use his
wife's unsubstantiated medical degree in diagnosing one's mental health.
Either both Harry and his wife are fools and incompetent, or Harry is a
liar.

PS - Did I tell you about my 36' Lobster Boat? How about my degree from
Yale?

Again, you are wrong. YOU, in DIRECT response to a post, stated that
YOU were qualified to make professional assessments. Where did Harry
do that? YOU stated you were capable of diagnosing mental problems by
what someone posts on usenet. Where did Harry do THAT? Please show
where Harry's wife diagnosed anyone via usenet.

Bass,

Just for you I pulled up two quickes.:

If you sat down with any of the licensed psychotherapists I know (my
wife is one, so I know lots of therapists socially) and spoke as you
post here, you'd probably be diagnosed with some sort of personality
disorder, maybe more, and additional sessions and then testing
administered by an an outside psychologist would be recommended. I
suspect at that point or soon thereafter, you'd not be allowed to buy
guns in certain jurisdictions that allowed you to buy them
previously.

My wife, incidentally, was head of psychotherapy at a 650-bed state
forensic mental hospital.

Did you really buy that story? An associate of my wife's, an ER
physician, said what Bush described was possible, but my wife contends
the "symptoms" (the banged face) are more consistent with being drunk
and losing consciousness.

Jeez, you are dumb. Harry said HIS WIFE said the above. YOU lied about
YOUR degrees, claiming to have them in direct response to my
questioning you about YOU diagnosing someone on usenet. YOU said Harry
did the same thing. Again, please show me one instance where, as you
have stated several times, that Harry has done the same.
