Just got a boat, can anyone identify it?

Okay...well, not really identify it, but does anyone remember these boats?
Anyone own one?
Seen one?
Know where they were made?
Can anyone take an educated guess on the year?

just looking for info...curiosity mostly.

For the record, I saw it with grass growing up around it (about 3' high).
Spoke to the owner, drug it home 2 days later.
Engine runs like a top, and the boat cleaned up real nice. Perfect little
starter boat for little jaunts on the bay.
Works much better than I had ever hoped it would.

The name plates indicate it's a Comet Traveler, but that's about it. The
title had the name and size on it (14') but I can't find a serial number or
manufacturers plate on it anywhere. The motor's a '75, and all indications
show that it was purchased at the same time as the boat.

Been searching the net but coming up empty. And looking through vintage and
antique boat sites didn't give me anything but wooden boats. Anyone have a
few links for pages about fibreglass boats that are around my boats age?

I'd really like to find out anything I can about the newest addition to the
family ;-)
Thanks in advance!!!

Definitely an early 60's boat. The logo looks very much like the
Arkansas Traveler logo. The Travelers were manufactured in Amsterdam, NY.
You can still see the hoist used to load the boat transports next to the
old factory adjacent to the NYS Thruway (Rt. 90.)
Good luck and good boating,
Jim

No - but it's 60's for sure, looks earlier 60's than later IMHO.

Deep six that poor Jonnyrude and put a '67 Merc 1100 on it and you'll both
see Cod and have wimmins dropping bikini bottoms for a ride.

Clams is right. Has to be early 60's at the latest. Looks a lot like
Lonestar model that I had when younger.

Just got a boat, can anyone identify it?

i'm using it with 1965 Johnson 28hp and enjoy it very much,
being a newbie to boating i cannot evaluate its performance,

i also cannot locate manufacturers plate and that gives me trouble
with licencing the vessel as Customs require a hull id number,
does anyone know what to do in my situation ?

Greetings from Saskatchewan

Andy
ps.
if you find anything more about the boat please post it here
tnx

I posted info here last week for andy.
