NOS Merc 1250 Powerhead.
Hear ye, Hear ye,
Let it be known to all men that I have taken posession of an N.O.S. "Typhoon" block powerhead for the 1968 / 1969 Merc 1250, 125hp outboard. It was sold new in 1977 and never mounted, comes with original box! I will not be putting up on Ebay, I will hold onto it till a restorer / collector needs it. It won't be cheap, I suspect it's one of a VERY few left in the world, if not the only NOS one. -W |

How the heck did you find NOS from '77? Surely you've got to
be at least 'thinking' about using it. :^) -JimL Clams Canino wrote: Hear ye, Hear ye, removed |

It was bought new by a racer that had it as a spare, never needed it, got sick, died, and wife finally unloaded it. It doesn't have the same base pattern as mine, it's pretty much unique to '68 and '69. The crankshaft is the same, and I thought about harvesting that for myself, but I can't bring myself to corrupt the thing. Someday, someone will be doing a "cash is no object" restoration. And I'll have a really nice payday. Last retail on the crank was $2000, pistons at $200 per...... the thing is worth it's weight in silver at least. :) http://www.mercruiserparts.com/selec...doc_nbr=+49047 All I'm doing is letting all the boards know I have it. Someone will remember that when the time comes. -W "JimL" wrote in message ... How the heck did you find NOS from '77?
