Is the storing of a pistol on a boat legal or not. Does it depend on the state law? I am very much looking forward to having the need to use the 20 ga. shotgun I occasionally find necessary to take boating with me. I came close once, but using a flying gaff was sufficient. The shotgun is reserved for halibut over 100 lbs only. I haven't quite reached the century mark yet... 72 lbs is my record to date. Here's a nice 30 lb'er.. note that it is in a 150 qt cooler, the tail is about 18" wide. Imagine 100 lbs of that flopping on the deck. http://slacktide.org:88/~dan/pics/wa..._in_cooler.jpg But seriously, I occasionally fish inside Canadian waters. On those occasions, I have left the gun at home, not wanting to deal with the hassle in case I was boarded by Canadian authorities. Dan -- Who you calling crazy?
