QM2 in Bar Harbor, ME.
A friend who lives on Deer Isle, Maine sent a newspaper clipping about
the recent arrival of the Queen Mary II in Frenchman Bay at Bar Habor, ME. The ship is 1,132 feet long and weighs 151,400 tons, and in a photo looks like an elephant in a bathtub while anchored in the bay. Thousands of people are expected to view the ship in Bar Habor, and more when it visits Portland, ME in mid-October. Go to http://www.bangornews.com/editorialn....cfm?ID=436554 for more. I understand that neither Bush nor Kerrey were on the ship when it visited. |
QM2 spent two days here last Sat & Sun along with 4 other cruise ships.
Then the Rotterdam arrived after taking a beating from the remenants of a hurricane on it's England to US trip. Seems the engines went south as 10 to 15 meter waves rolled the ship around. Some passengers beaten up bouncing off furniture etc. "John Wentworth" wrote in message ... Before she launched, there was a "Visitor's Day" or somesuch, and one of the gangways collapsed...killed a dozen or so, IIHC. Bad Joss...stay away from her.
