Storm Damaged Boats
 

Seems a lot of boats were damaged in the recent storms in Florida.
Some of the tv coverage was taken at marina's, one I saw was at Crandon
Marina in Miami, two boats about 20' in lenght were just tied up against the
dock.
They were relatively new with what seemed like 150+Hp outboards, felt bad
seeing them
bang against the dock like that. The camera crew checked on them every so
often and
they were beaten pretty bad by the end of the storm Lots of cracked and
broken fiberglass.
Made me wonder why people you leave boats like that in the water. These two
boats were
definetly trailerable but they were left in the water. I know some larger
boats you just have
to take your chances but at least try to do something to protect them.
Are they just new boaters that don't know any better, Old boaters that just
don't care anymore
or people hoping more for an insurance claim than getting back on the water.

To some it's like selling your boat without all the hassles.

Lots of people have friction between the payment book and the insurance
policy.

It is indeed the leading cause of fires.... :-

We have some people like that around my marina - when Frances was
threatening I noted two boats on the other side of the pier from me that
were tied up with what could easily pass for heavy clothesline. :-(

And all of us pay for it in higher insurance bills!!!!

One story really pi__ed me off... 3 guys in Fort Lauderdale UNTIED a
100' yacht and allowed it to crash into a train bridge. A family with
children were staying aboard (Their home did not have power) and they
saw the car drive away but could not get a license plate number....

BS. Camera crews only see that they have a vapid info babe lined up so you can
see the boats crash.
Did you see the Weather Channel people who staged their shot so you could
watch a 30sumpin sailboat crashing on the rocks in Melbourn Beach while they
told us some useless crap? I didn't see the WC crew doing anything for the
boat.
I told my wife the guy who owns that boat will see it on TV and be ****ed. Sure
enough a few minutes later he came running down the bank, with cops chasing
him, and he rescued his boat. A while later they showed it tied up in a slip
across on another pier. I would rather have watched that operation than to see
the weather babe telling us how the rain felt on her skin.

Depends on how the rain on her skin affected her, and what kind of shirt she
was wearing.

watch coat

I'd like to see Alexandra Steele do a few of those driving rain reports in a
