"Gould 0738" wrote in message ... It's a shame that the democrats offer no real platform of their own or offer any viable alternatives to the path we're currently on. Their only campaign issue is throwing mud at Bush. It's sad, truly sad. Dave Don't be so sad, Dave. There's a new "campaign" issue for the Democrats just coming to light today. I wish I lived in the home state of the brave Republican who just fessed up that he was offered $100,000 in campaign financing if he would drop his opposition to Bush's Medicare reform bill and vote "yes" rather than "no". I'd vote for a guy with that kind of integrity in a heart beat. Apparently this guy is about to retire, and his son is going to run for his seat. The $100k was to be given to the son's campaign. I like the new Medicare bill. I'm glad my campaign contributions are being used for something worthwhile. |

used for something worthwhile. Situational ethics. Suppose the bribe was to influence a vote to liberalize homosexual marriage or abortion? Would you still think it was OK? |

If my money is being used for bribes, I want to make damn sure the "bribees" are voting my way. |

I asked:
Suppose the bribe was to influence a vote to liberalize homosexual marriage or abortion? Would you still think it was OK? NOYB answered: Hell no. If my money is being used for bribes, I want to make damn sure the "bribees" are voting my way. Hard to argue with such candor. :-) |
