Bill's bypass
Bit of a surprise. Bill Clinton seemed trim & fit these days and all the
time he is spending north of the border should have been good for him. I hope it works out well and he's back to celebrate Kerry's victory in November. |

And don't forget to pay your taxes so the rich don't have to! |

I'm amazed that we don't have some of the usual suspects celebrating his health problem and expressing hope that he dies on the operating table. Congrats to the right wingers on their evident self control, on this issue at least. I have little use for Clinton, but as a fellow human being I wish him a complete recovery. |

I don't want the Democratic party (and especially his wife) picking up sympathy votes if he kicks it. |
Gould,
Don't you think the most prolific poster has set the tone for discussions in rec.boats? You normally discuss issues and not personalities, I like to believe that most people even though who did not like Clinton's policies wish him no ill will. PS - I downloaded the video of Zell's speech. It reminded me of Al Sharpton's speech at the Dem. Convention. Those two speeches were the only ones where each person spoke his mind with passion. Zell seems to be a man of principal, it took a lot of balls to speak his mind, even when it might be political death. What was your problem with his speech? "Gould 0738" wrote in message ... Gould,
Don't you think the most prolific poster has set the tone for discussions in rec.boats? I think we are each responsible for our own deportment. Calling names because "TMPP started it!" is not adult behavior. You normally discuss issues and not personalities, I like to believe that most people even though who did not like Clinton's policies wish him no ill will. And didn't I commend our right wing contingent for not jumping on the "hope he dies" band wagon? It isn't inconceivable that the same people who have accused Bill Clinton of murdering 18-20 people during his presidency would express some hope that he, himself, would now die. What was your problem with his speech? 1. It contradicted statements he has made about John Kerry within the last couple of years. Was he lying then, or lying now? 2. The accusations were not based on fact. He simply repeated the same lies that Kerry has cast specific votes against all of those individual weapons programs. http://slate.msn.com/id/2096127/ 3. It represents where our country is going. If the founding fathers could have seen how their brave experiment in self government was going to deteriorate into the polarized, hateful mess we see today, they would have saved us all a lot of bother and simply crowned George Washington king. |

How is his speech any different than other passionate speeches made by the
Democrats during the primaries? How is it different than Shapton's speech at the convention? You are very willing to ignore the mud slung by democrats, but get very upset when it is against your guy. Is Zell Miller lying now or then? Think back to the comments made by democratic candidates in the primaries and then how they kiss and make up at the convention. I believe Zell was saying what his party wanted him to say a few years ago. Today, he is planning to retire, and is speaking what he believes. You may think he is insane, addled but he was sincere. As far as your backhanded comment about the right wing in rec.boats, if you could not see that "I'm amazed that we don't have some of the usual suspects celebrating his health problem and expressing hope that he dies on the operating table." was not a complement you have allowed yourself to get too overworked concerning the election and need to take a break. The only person in rec.boats who wished someone dead was Harry when he said he wished he had a stroke while making his keynote address. "Gould 0738" wrote in message ... You can keep saying that you would behave that way and that you feel that it is wrong to judge your fellow party members but, it just proves that you are unprincipled. It has a bit more integrity than Slate, the mouth piece of the liberal/progressive elite. 3. It represents where our country is going. Just because the country is returning to its conservative roots doesn't mean you have to whine and cry. |
