Nowhere to run

Well here we go again. For the second time in less than a month we are going
to get hit by a hurricane.
Last time I was lucky that it came in from the west, but this time its
coming from the east.
That places my pride and joy in the possible path of the hurricane.
With the projected path being as wide as it is, it leaves me with no place
to motor it to.
So here I sit with fingers crossed just hoping for the best.
Anyone else have their boat in the Port Canaveral area?

I know the feeling David - I'm in Sanford. Charlie 'uncovered' all our
covered slips.

Are you on Lake Monroe?
I'm inside storage at Cape Marina but those buildings don't seem
to fare to well in hurricanes.
I even considered pulling it out of there and anchoring in the cove
next to the Barge Canal Locks, but then I had visions of my
boat being tossed about and breaking free.
Then who knows where it would end up.
Lets just hope that we have our boats to use next weekend.

Why not see if you can raft up with some other boats in the locks? I've done
it before. Water level gets lowered to the minimum for the largest vessel in
the locks.

Put boats in a raft, tie off and drain down lock.
