Sailing Forums?
I am looking for some decent Sailing forums.
I have had "the bug" for a sailboat for as long as I can remember and now, living within an hour and half of Lake Lanier in Georgia (big lake, lots of sailboats on it) I am REALLY wanting to get one. Thanks! Tom |
Stop Looking for forums and go down to the local sailing club instead.

Thanks! Tom I plan on it...however I can only get there on the weekends. Since my job requires me to sit on a computer all day with a T3 access I thought it would be nice to talk with like-minded folk while I work the salt mines! |

On Fri, 27 Aug 2004 12:41:04 +1000, something compelled "d
parker" , to say: ahhhhhh alt.sailing.asa if you dare.. He specifically said he was looking for a sailing forum, mot a political one. |

Tom,
I was going to suggest that you go to the Sailnet.com - click Discussion Lits, but I looked and there is no Lake Lanier list (not a big surprise). If you go to the LLSC site, you might find out something of value. there's no sailing talk at a.s.a. Just idiots insulting each other.

Trailersailor.com is a good one. Most of the focus is on trailerable
sailboats but there are quite a few on the forum with larger boats. Tom wrote: I am looking for some decent Sailing forums. Another vote for TrailerSailor.com. If you're looking for a lot of
information, in particular about trailerable, more affordable boats (but not necessarily small boats). I think there may even be a few members up your way. In fact, I could swear there's a guy on our Precision forum up around there. Sailnet.com I find is good for larger boat, racing oriented discussion. Newbies are very welcome at TrailerSailor.com For mags, Sail is probably the best "all around" magazine. Good Old Boat is fabulous. I don't care for the rest much, but read them all when there's something on the cover of interesting. "Tom" wrote in message news:0sIYc.3895$UI6.3586@trnddc08... Trailersailor.com is a good one. I am also an avid motorcyclist and all of my favorite forums have turned into nothing more then political forums...ugh. OK!! So try something completely different...like it.hobby.nautica. Most people there can understand english, and, generally speaking are very well prepared, technically speaking. Never thought to set sail in italy?? Y should! Or y can try fr.rec.bateaux, for istance. or UK.rec.sailing By the way, i was doing the same, searching other forums around the world and found this one! I am from Florence, Italy, and i have an hobie 16 (thanks forever to hobie alter, by the way) and a beneteau First 40.7, charterized for a little money/recovering. I guess i have also to apologize for my written english.. anyway i speak it a little worse, indeed. ;o) Pietro Cambi Fiesole, Florence, Italy |
