Thule Carrier and a Kayak on a Subaru Forester
 

I have a 6-7' by 2' wide Thule cargo carrier that fits on my Subaru Forester. I'd
like to carry a Necky Chalin (14') kayak up there. It will fit, but it's very
difficult to open the carrier. Any suggestions for mounting both that will make it
possible to open the carrier? I can loosen the straps on the kayak, so all is not
lost. However,it would be nice to keep both tightly fastened while opening the carrier.
