PUT-IN-BAY, Ohio -- Health officials said Saturday that they have
confirmed more than 100 additional cases of an illness that's causing
cramps, diarrhea, nausea, fever and chills among visitors to this resort
area.

The number of people suffering from the gastrointestinal illness has
risen to 510, up from 378 documented cases Friday, Ohio Department of
Health spokesman Jay Carey said Saturday. Interviews with 168 more
people are pending, he said.

Investigators from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention are
helping county and state officials in their attempt to pinpoint the
cause of the illness on Lake Erie's South Bass Island, sometimes called
the "Key West of the Midwest."

The Ohio Department of Health has confirmed cases of salmonella,
norovirus and campylobacter among the victims, said spokesman Kristopher
Weiss.

All three germs have symptoms that match the outbreak. Campylobacter is
one of the most common bacterial causes of diarrhea and is usually
caused by eating or handling undercooked or raw chicken, according to
the CDC.

Unless they were chicken hot dogs, it probably wasn't the hot dogs. Do you
even bother to read the articles you cut and paste.

And unlike the lame brained asshole Hairy who posts this drivel, we actually
own a boat and take it out!
We were in Put In Bay today after meeting friends at Kelleys, and heading
over to Scudders @ Pelee for lunch.
Crowds were as big as ever.
Meanwhile Hairy sits alone boatless in his house trailer cutting and pasting
articles while eating cold Spagettios.....

The problem was linked to e coli in water wells used by several of the
island restaurants and bars.

For those not familiar with Put In Bay....

It is the downtown area on South Bass Island and within a cluster of
recreational destinations on Lake Erie.

Here are some nice links about Put in Bay:

We would normally spend anywhere from 2-6 days at a time on the island
during the summer, docking at The Crew's Nest http://www.thecrewsnest.com/
or off a buoy at the Public Marina.

Another clever comeback from our village idiot.

Ever notice how he resorts childish insults when he cant debate
effectivly, or gets caught in one of his many lies?

Did you happen, just maybe, to see the word "usually" in there? You
can get Campylobacter from just about ANY kind of meat. Also, did you
stop and think about what if some hotdogs came in contact with some
chicken? Or did you think that those places keep hot dogs and chicken
in seperate refrigerators?
