It is now the time for reflections on the past year. My boat is safely away
in its winter storage barn. There is snow on the ground and the temperature
is minus 6 this morning.

I have been reading "rec boats" for several years and have met some of the
people from this wonderful group. There has been some name calling and
worse from some members, but, most are very cordial.

This past week I have had a hip replacement and I now have a lot of spare
reading time on my hands while I recuperate.

There was an offer, two weeks ago for two "Free Books". This offer was made
by Chuck Gould. I was the lucky first responder to this offer.

I have the books and they are great! Thanks Chuck.....

Good luck and a speedy recovery with that fancy new hip of yours. My
father-in-law got one a while back and soundly trounced me on the golf
course last summer.

Hi Rick: Thanks for your kind words. It is supposed to take about 3 months
to recuperate from the operation and get the strength back. I am looking
forward to a good boating season, next year, as soon as the "hard" water is
gone.

Hi Jim,

Happy Holidays. I am happy to hear your operation went well.

Here's hoping for your speedy recovery.

I am looking at back surgery in January, and would appreciate any
insights on how to keep your sanity while drydocked. Use the link below
