Now I feel sheepish. I don't know, it just seems to be an idea to have a
newsgroup that doesn't have to have a bunch of Off Topics. And yes, I have gotten mostly decent replies and will continue to use this group w/ or without the OTs. It would just be easier to use that way. Paul "Gary Warner" wrote in message ... "paul c" wrote in message news:Mq6Tc.3329$73.756@lakeread04... Does anyone know of a good newsgroup where the posts are about boats and not politics? Last time I checked neither Bush nor Kerry make boats or motors. Or do some of you lack friends who will listen? Paul Paul, What's your problem? You've posted at least three boating questions this month and all of those were responded to in thoughtful ways by multiple posters. None of those threads mentioned politics in any way. ~ Avoiding threads that don't interest you is quite easy. Hint: Most political threads are started with "OT" which stands for Off Topic. Don't read those. Set your newsreader to eliminate them if you want to. ~ Rec.boats is a great source of information about boats. What else do you want for free? |

I just like to remind people to see the good side of what's going on in here, not just the bad. ~ Happy Boating. Gary |

Paul, What's your problem? The problem is the topics have NOTHING to do with boating. Usenet is divided into subjects for a reason, use them. It appears to me that the folks discussing politics in rec.boats are to scared to discuss the topic in the proper group; so they hide in an off-topic group. If you have no idea what politically related groups are out there, look under alt.politics. You should find something that suits your interests. -- John |
